Paper on Suicide Topics - Personal Opinions Vs Group OpinionsIs the writer of this paper on suicide topics intentionally trying to show the suicidal tendencies? Does it contain quotes and information that will help the reader to understand suicide and the depth of the problem? Unfortunately the answer is a resounding yes.
Sometimes the saddest and sad events are used to illustrate real life issues. This makes the paper more credible. This is a smart move by the author as it serves to lower the odds of someone questioning the validity of the facts in the piece. Unfortunately, many people already doubt the facts contained in the paper. The author of the paper wrote 'research indicates that the number of deaths caused by suicide is rising' indicating that some suicides are preventable and others are not. If someone in the group decides to commit suicide, the author hopes that the reader realizes the problem and why they feel as they do. This will give people the chance to talk about their feelings and hopefully not feel alone and ostracized after the event. However, just having the right information may not work. It is a personal decision for the reader whether or not they can understand a certain situation and if someone were to question the facts in the paper, their opinion might be considered insulting. This is especially true if they feel the author's opinion does not fit with the subject. Suicide is a very touchy subject. People want to be treated respectfully and to feel they are heard and understood. In this case, the opinion presented in the paper is based on opinions of others. The author is in a difficult position as they have to provide facts and explanations while trying to avoid being accused of personal and intellectual insensitivity. The author did not discuss depression or drug abuse in their paper on suicide issues. They only discussed the points and opinions of others. Unfortunately, a person who believes they are suffering from a mental illness and believes they can get help does not feel comfortable discussing it in such an open and public forum. Relationship problems are difficult to deal with. It is not uncommon for a family member to help an individual feel better. But, the fact remains that most people consider counseling and support groups to be their first line of defense. Sadly, family members often offer little in the way of real help. This paper can be used to support personal preference or group opinions. The author is responsible for their opinions. The reader must respect the views of others.
